How to get curls back after keratin treatment

How to get curls back after keratin treatment?

Your curls cannot go back to the way they were before applying the keratin treatment. It’s because a keratin treatment is permanent.

By avoiding heat tools, you can soften the effects of keratin, like a clarifying shampoo. Avoid using shampoo or conditioner with keratin.

You’ll have to be patient if you want to get your curls back after having keratin treatment.

The treatment lasts for three to six months depending on how often you wash your hair.

If you are washing your hair with a shampoo that has sulfates, the keratin on your hair will fade faster.

However, your hair will also fade faster. I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for.

A keratin treatment helps repair processed and damaged hair by modifying the structure of the hair permanently (it gets rid of frizzing & other damages).

Unfortunately, the keratin will eventually wear off and your hair will return to its natural state.

So, what can you do?

What do I mean? As the saying goes, “If you can’t beat them, join them!”

IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE WAY YOUR CURLS LOOKS AFTER KERATIN, YOU CAN SOFTEN ITS EFFECTS

Avoiding certain actions will help reduce the impact of the treatment.

As keratin is activated by heat, you can forget about blow drying and flat ironing your hair for a while.

Avoiding the flat iron will help the keratin stay put. If you hated the perfect straight look, the heat won’t activate it.

Your hair will look straight, frizz-free, and less volatile the first few weeks after application.

Do you want to get your curls back?

There is a keratin effect — a temporary change in the quality of your hair after it has been heated — that lasts for 2 weeks.

You might have noticed that your hair seems to be dryer and frizzy if you don’t use a blow dryer or flat iron, even if it’s only noticeable when looking closely.

This is because the waves you can see on a strand of hair just below the surface are due to humidity in the air.

You can braid your hair before going down and this will help the waves return.

Don’t use shampoo and conditioners with keratin.

You should avoid the “wet in the rain” effect. This is because it will increase the amount of keratin on your hair.

It’s because your hair absorbs the majority of the chemicals you apply to it.

One of the things people should do after applying keratin treatments is to use shampoos and conditioners that are formulated with keratin. Those shampoos can extend the effects of the treatment.

On the other hand, you want to be using gentle shampoos and conditioners. These types of shampoos & conditioners do not contain the type of substances mentioned above such as keratin or sulfates.

If possible, you might want to use dry shampoo.

Why?

Women often complain about the greasy hair that seems to be a result of using keratin. The treatment is hard to shake,

but there are treatments you can use in order to help: including hair washing, and dry shampoo.

They wash their hair every day, but it isn’t necessary because their hair isn’t dirty.

The keratin treatment seals the outer layer of damaged hair & restructures its structure to repair the cuticles and at the same time protect them.

In the meantime, the scalp releases natural oils that moisturize your hair deeply.

The keratin treatment seals the cuticles of your hair, preventing them from absorbing natural oils. This process keeps your hair healthy.

Then, the greasiness increases.

IF THAT’S YOUR CASE, USE DRY SHAMPOO INSTEAD OF WASHING YOUR HAIR

Some people may be confused about how dry shampoo should be used. All it takes is a quick spray of dry shampoo 10 centimeters from the roots, then gently massaging for two or three minutes and rinsing with water until the excess soap is gone.

If you have to dye your hair again right after the treatment, wait at least one day.

Permanent hair dye is a hair styling product that opens the cuticle. Some of the keratin will be removed.

These are some general steps you can take to minimize the effects of keratin on your hair.

It can take 3-4 months or longer to get your hair back to where it was before you applied keratin.

You might notice some subtle changes. I will discuss these changes next.

DAY 1 TO DAY 15 AFTER KERATIN APPLICATION

These days will be hell for you. Your hair will look completely straight. If that’s not what you were looking for, it may even look lifeless and dull.

Remember that if you don’t use the flat iron to heat your hair, your head won’t reactivate the keratin in your scalp.

DAY 15 TO DAY 30

Straightening your mane with a curling iron or wand can sometimes affecting your hair’s natural waves. You may start to notice some frizz and dullness.

This is because you stopped activating the keratin, and you’re probably not using shampoos and conditioner with keratin.

DAY 30 TO DAY 70

You’ll at this stage start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Your hair will start to look like it was before the treatment

It even feels a little rougher, and you notice that it has less shine.

DAY 70 TO 90

Finally, your hair is back to the way it was!

Sometimes it’s hard to predict how long a hair will react after using a new treatment. This is because every situation is different and every hair reacts differently, too.

CONCLUSIONS

Keratin treatments don’t disappear overnight because they last for approximately three to six months.

If you don’t like the hair straightener results, don’t reactivate the keratin with the heat of a flat iron. You can also avoid washing your hair with a keratin shampoo to help reduce and soften any potential negative effects.
